Betting on Seattle v Indy?

Colts Look to Knock Seattle from Undefeated Ranks

The Seattle Seahawks remain on the road this weekend looking to win their third straight away from CenturyLink Field early in the 2013 season.

Seattle escaped Houston with an overtime win last week after getting outplayed for the majority of the game. It doesn’t get any easier this week – the 3-1 Indianapolis Colts await suddenly looking like a strong contender in the AFC.

The Colts already put a beat down on Seattle’s chief rival San Francisco. Will they be able to inflict the same damage on the Hawks?

Seattle gave up 355 yards passing last week to Matt Schaub, 170 total yards to Arian Foster and Russell Wilson threw for only 123 yards.

And the Seahawks still won last week!

It is a testament to the complete nature of this team. It seems to be a different unit that picks up the slack each and every week. Last week it was the defense and specifically Richard Sherman that provided the dagger with his pick-6 in the third quarter.

Seattle’s defense will do its part – guaranteed! There aren’t too many that would argue that they are not among the two or three best units in the game. The secondary, the sack-masters and the run stoppers are top tier and will need to be against an emerging Indy offense with a superstar QB.

Seattle has to be able to run the ball to have a chance Sunday – to keep Andrew Luck off the field and to churn out chunks of yards. Marshawn Lynch had 98 yards on the ground and a TD to go along with 45 yards receiving. If he dominates, Seattle wins, plain and simple.

The Indianapolis Colts were seen as an emerging team heading into the season, but the acquisition of stud Trent Richardson, on paper, could have taken this team to the next level. His skills are unquestioned and his abilities will make it so Luck doesn’t have to be the only threat on offense.

Indianapolis has a balanced offense and with one of the best up-and-coming QB talents in the game – scary.

Luck is completing just over 64 percent of his passes for 918 yards and five scores, averaging a solid 7.2 yards and has developed quite a chemistry with Coby Fleener as of late. Luck, Richardson, Reggie Wayne and Fleener? Seattle will have its hands full!

 A few trends to consider:

• SEA are 14-3 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
• Over is 6-2 in SEA last 8 road games.
• SEA are 26-9-1 ATS in their last 36 games overall.
• Under is 12-3 in IND last 15 home games.
• IND are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games.
• Under is 22-8 in IND last 30 games overall.

The Hawks may have used up a bit of karma last week in their win over Houston. I have a feeling it catches up to them this week.

Indianapolis is a good team that prides itself on taking care of the ball. You simply won’t see Andrew Luck making the same mistakes as Matt Schaub! In a close game, Indianapolis hands Seattle its first loss – we can’t win em all folks!
